For the majority of us, joining the Mile High Club brings up images of awkward positions and awkward bathroom-door encounters. But one couple have given another meaning to the phrase entirely.
A guy proposed to his girlfriend during a two hour flight…and then married her during a surprise mid-flight wedding ceremony.
The Austrian Airlines flight from Vienna to Athens started normally enough, until a choir popped up started to sing Bruno Mars’ ‘Marry You’.
Jurgen Bogner then got down on one knee in front of girlfriend Nathaly (they were seated in the emergency exit row if you were wondering about space).
Fortunately for Jurgen, she said yes.
But the surprises weren’t over yet.
He then promptly got out a wedding dress and rings, before introducing her to their witnesses. And then an official carried out the ceremony.
The wedding took place in the middle of the plane, with Jurgen walking his new bride down the (airplane) aisle, accompanied by a violinist.
And they even had a wedding cake, courtesy of the airline.
he happy occasion was documented by blogger Tatjana Catic who happened to be sitting next to the pair.
‘I am so excited, I was sitting right next to the bride and got so emotional when her boyfriend proposed to her,’ she says.
So, their holiday in Greece turned into their honeymoon.
