Awesome ‘SkyDeck’ On Top Of Airplanes Lets You Enjoy 360° Views As You Fly
By Melissa Goh
The ‘SkyDeck’ is an additional installation at the top of the airplane’s fuselage that would let you enjoy immersive 360-degree views of the sky.
Designed by aerospace engineering firm Windspeed Technologies, the company has been working on its concept, specifications and functions for over a year, and has already filed for a patent application.
Should the patent be granted, the SkyDeck teardrop-shape deck will consist of a single or two-seat platform that can be rotated in any directions, and is accessed through a staircase or an elevator.
Its minimal design and height will not interfere with the airflow, but may add to the airplane’s fuel consumption. It will be made from high-strength materials that will meet all safety requirements of the US Federal Aviation Administration, and will be designed to withstand all conditions.
Would you sit in a private viewing deck on top of an airplane?
