Fuel costs of a Emirates Boeing 777 plane were reported to make up nearly half of its airline operating costs in July 2014.
While the twin-engine jet airliner eats up fuel, it also appears to tear up the sky in fascinating viral footage shared by YouTube user flugsnug.

The sheer size of the plane and its wings means that they generate pressure differences.

This leads air flows to spiral off each one, twisting the clouds around the jet airliner.
As it powers through the sky over Birmingham Airport in the footage, the Boeing 777 is seen creating various cloud shapes in its path.
